Independent Learner

In my four years I have cultivated and met the guiding principles that are core to the teachings at Nokomis. To start, since getting a job at Aubuchon Hardware, it has been my job to learn and apply many sources of information in order to better serve the customer, a valuable place where I learned how to be an Independent Learner. Applying accumulated knowledge in new contexts (2.1) is still a large part of my job, along with taking initiative to learn, unlearn, and relearn skills when I was taught something wrong or incomplete (2.3). Seeing as direct customer relationships are a large part of my job, valuable skills such as using interpersonal skills to learn and work with others quickly became a part of my job description. These combinations of skills have propelled me to be the best I can be and be successful in both my job and my life.
